“JOURNEY TO A DREAM” IS A JOINT PROJECT OF HEŘMAN VOLF, A HANDICAPPED SPORTSMAN, AND A PRODUCTION COMPANY MILD PRODUCTION. SINCE THE BEGINNING OF 2011 A COMPANY NEVER GIVE UP HAS BEEN ALSO PART OF THE PROJECT.

THE MAJOR AIM OF THE PROJECT IS TO SHOW TO THE PUBLIC AND ABOVE ALL TO THOSE WHO, LIKE HEŘMAN, ALL OF A SUDDEN FOUND THEMSELVES DEPENDENT ON A WHEELCHAIR THAT BEING DISABLED DOES NOT PREVENT THEM FROM BEING ACTIVE, ENGAGING IN SPORTS OR MAKING THEIR DREAMS COME TRUE.

“JOURNEY TO A DREAM” IS A LONG-TERM PROJECT. IN ADDITION TO THE AIM TO SPREAD THE MESSAGE THAT LIFE ON A WHEELCHAIR DOES NOT MEAN THE END OF THE LIFE, THE PROJECT IS BUILD AROUND FOUR HAND BIKE JOURNEYS MADE BY HEŘMAN VOLF AND THE MILD PRODUCTION TEAM IN THE COURSE OF FOUR YEARS - ONE JOURNEY A YEAR. ALL JOURNEYS SET OUT FROM PRAGUE, EACH TOWARDS ONE OF THE FOUR CARDINAL POINTS. THE ONLY MEANS OF TRANSPORT USED BY HEŘMAN THROUGHOUT EACH JOURNEY IS HIS HAND BIKE.

Auspices

Doc. MUDr. Bohuslav Svoboda, CSc.

Since 1969 he has been working in a Gynaecology and Obstetrics Hospital - Královské Vinohrady, Prague and the 3rd. Medical Faculty of Charles University. He led the 3rd. Medical Faculty UK between years 2003 – 2010. Currently he remains in the office of Vice-Dean. Nowadays Mr. Svoboda works as a Mayor of capital city Prague. Mr. Svoboda takes place under auspices project“ Journey to a Dream“ and he starts the race on 17th, June in the morning.

JUDr. Pavel Vošalík

Pavel Vošalík is a former Czech ambassador to JAR and to Canada. Since 2008 he has been a Czech ambassador to Vatican City State. The 2011 part of the project “Journey to a Dream” takes place under his auspices. Thanks to it we were granted with audience with Pope Benedict XVI which will be a true grand finale of the whole journey.

RNDr. Vladimír Zavázal, CSc.

In 1993 he joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic as an advisitor to the Minister and later as a Executive Director of the operating section. Here he also works as a General Secretary and Secretary of State. He served as a Czech Ambassador to Greece. Since 2006 he has been living in Rome, where he acts as an Ambassador to Italy and Malta. Because he takes place under auspices project that will help us greatly in dealing with Italian companies about project sponsoring.

Italian-Czech Chamber of Commerce (CAMIC)

Italian-Czech Chamber of Commerce is another organization under whose auspices the project “Journey to a Dream” takes place. Italian-Czech Chamber of Commerce was founded in Prague in 2001 thanks to a determination of several Italian businessmen and with the valuable assistance of the Italian embassy in the Czech Republic. It soon experienced rapid increase in member companies which were interested in entering the Czech market. It was official recognized by the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade and also by the Italian government in 2003. The aim of the chamber of commerce is to create a network of services in order to improve and support business relations between Italy and the Czech Republic and to provide assistance to Italian companies entering Czech markets.

  

FIABA Italia and FIABA Czech Republic

FIABA is an Italian NGO working in the international domain. Its aim is to support initiatives and activities in the area of urban development with a focus on an adequate usage of urban areas while enabling wheelchair access in the name of their motto “NEW AND BARRIER-FREE.” FIABA Czech Republic was established in 2010 and has been working on numerous projects as well as co-operating with local NGOs with a similar goals and specialization.
